Vincent Engine Boost (VEB)
What is the Vincent Engine Boost?
The VEB is an additional power system under the hood of a car that can assist the engine in moving the vehicle. It does this by storing small amounts of energy as you drive, which can all be released almost instantly with the push of a button from the driver. This is very useful when merging into a gap in traffic, merging onto the highway or escaping dangers of a truck or bus. The system is very useful in an underpowered car, or one that is very heavy.
Will it affect fuel economy?
The VEB uses a small amount of fuel to store energy and charge the system. However, because all this energy is released to propel the vehicle forward when the system is used, fuel economy remains virtually unchanged.
Will it affect engine power?
The VEB requires a small amount of power from the engine to charge, however it intelligently stops charging when there is no power to spare, such us under hard acceleration. Because of this feature, the driver of the vehicle should not notice any power loss at all.
How is it P Plate legal?
The laws for a Provisional license holder vary throughout the states and territories of Australia. Essentially, they limit the power output of a vehicles engine, based on a number of factors about the car. Because the VEB is a system for providing power separate from the engine, it is not affected in any way by the Provisional license laws. In fact, the VEB can be used to legally boost the engine past the power threshold permitted for a Provisional license holder.
